The Boys from The Chip Inn join in with MOVEMBER!!

Movember is all about bringing back the moustache, so the boys from The Chip Inn - Chris, Paul, Jamie, Ryan, Paul and Lee are all attempting to grow (We do say attempt, as so far the results are very variable with Lee sporting less of a shadow than the average spotty teenager! And Chris is shy at the potential of a ginger tash!!) Whilst everyone has been enjoying the fun, there is a serious reason behind their fundraising, all are wishing to raise awareness of men's health, specifically prostate cancer and testicular cancer.

Movember Foundation

The Movember Foundation uses the money raised to fund two programmes: an awareness and education programme that significantly increases the understanding and reduces the stigmas of the health risks that men face, and Movember’s Global Action Plan that accelerates key outcomes in prostate cancer research by facilitating global research collaboration projects

Prostate Cancer UK fights to help more men survive prostate cancer and enjoy a better quality of life. They use money raised by the Movember Foundation to fund ground-breaking research and to give men the support and information they need. Services include a dedicated team of specialist nurses and one-to-one support from other men who've 'been there’.

The Institute of Cancer Research uses the money raised by the Movember Foundation to fund research into male cancers, focusing on testicular cancer, to further broaden the impact on men’s health.

The annual fish and chip supper for the Norfolk section of the Vincent HRD Owners Club took place at the Chip Inn, Long Stratton on Friday 11th May ’12.

A group of twenty motorcycle enthusiasts arrived on their cherished Vincent motor cycles to enjoy an evening meal at the very popular Chip Inn.

Using one of the outside tables as a motorbike stand proved to be an interesting talking point for those regulars queuing for their Friday night supper.

The evening event was organised by club member Mr Bernie Rowland, who was a keen motor cross racing competitor over forty years ago, together with Mr Chris Austin, owner of the Chip Inn, this friendship and rivalry has developed over the years into a pleasant excuse for a jolly good meal.

With the age range of between 33years for Greg Rowland from Rackheath and a very respectful 78years old for regular member Mr Ivan Moore and his wife Joyce, who is 77 years old from Lowestoft, who arrived in style on their beautiful Vincent Rapide Twin and sidecar, the couple have been members of the club since 1963.
